Duration: 3 days
Purpose:

The program explores the full lifecycle of tailings management—including governance frameworks, industry lessons learned, fundamental tailings engineering principles, environmental and social considerations, design and operational issues, water and risk management, and concepts for closure and long-term stewardship.

2. Responsible Tailings Management: Operational Excellence
Duration: 8 hours
Purpose:
The workshop is an introduction to responsible tailings management across the tailings facility lifecycle, and the programme explores tailings fundamentals, governance, risk management, closure, project evaluation, and contemporary industry good practice. The workshop combines technical presentations, case studies, and interactive group exercises focused on tailings site and technology selection and the application of Trigger Action Response Plans (TARPs).

3. Leadership in Responsible Tailings Management
Duration: 6 hours
Purpose:
This programme is designed to strengthen leadership capability in the governance, oversight and strategic management of tailings facilities.
Audience:
Senior leaders responsible for tailings governance and decision-making, including Board members, executives, Accountable Executives,General Managers, regional and asset leaders, technical services managers, HSE and ESG leaders, and others accountable for managing tailings-related risks and organisational performance.
Outcomes:
Participants develop a practical understanding of tailings risks, organisational accountabilities, and key decisions that influence safety, sustainability and long-term business performance across the facility lifecycle.
4. Board Oversight of Tailings Management: Governance, Risk & Assurance
Duration: 2 hours
Purpose:
To strengthen Board capability in the governance and oversight of tailings facilities by developing an understanding of key risks, accountabilities, assurance mechanisms and emerging industry expectations.
Audience:
Structured for directors who are governance-fluent and risk-aware, connecting Board accountability expectations and the standard of challenge required in practice.
Outcomes:
