The online learning experience for certain EduMine courses may be enhanced by optional audio-visual components (audio and video) on Multimedia CDs. The audio-visual components on CD provide an enhanced alternative to corresponding figure sequences within a course, without the overhead of a significantly increased bandwidth requirement.
The online learning experience is enhanced significantly by more detailed explanations using voice, video and animated figures.
Courses are accessed online in the usual way, while audio-visual components are extracted from a Multimedia CD mounted on your local workstation. This enhances your learning experience without having to download large multimedia files over the Internet.
The availability of a multimedia CD option for a course is indicated by the presence of the following form in the course introduction.
If you do not have the Multimedia CD for the course, then ignore the form and enter the course in the normal way.
If you have already purchased (see below) and received the Multimedia CD for the course from EduMine, then insert it in your local CD drive, set the checkbox in the above form, select your CD drive letter from the drop down list, click the Test CD button to verify CD access, and then enter the course in the normal way.
 If you checked the Multimedia CD option in the course introduction, then the availability of an audio-visual component for a particular figure sequence within the course is indicated by the presence of a "multimedia button" in the figure window, as shown on the right.
Click the button to load the audio-visual component. Note that MS Windows Media Player (version 7 or higher) must be installed on your workstation for the audio-visual component to load properly. Windows Media Player is freely available from Windows Media Player Download.
