  • This tool graphically determines peak particle velocity PPV for a given distance R and specified values of charge weight W and site factors k and b.
  • It also provides distance thresholds for varying levels of potential discomfort and damage.
  • Click in the graph above, then drag-and-drop with the left mouse button to obtain the required distance R value.
  • Charge W (kg) (0<W<1000) is the maximum charge weight per blasting delay; to change the current value, click on the displayed value then enter a new value in the parameter dialog.
  • Parameters k (40<k<6400) and b (1.1<b<1.6) are site dependent and typically determined from onsite testing ... to enter specific values of k and b, set site conditions to "specify k and b", then click on a displayed value and enter a new value in the parameter dialog.
  • A range of typical values of k and b are provided by selecting the appropriate site conditions.
