Mine Safety: Risk, Reason and RegretSummaryParticipate in an interesting and intriguing look into accidents, incidents, environmental excursions and other events that shape the landscape of risk that industrial enterprises must navigate. Risk assessment, risk perception and risk communication will all be examined within the framework of well known industrial events such as: the Exxon Valdez, the Westray mine disaster, the Sunshine mine disaster, Chernobyl, Three Mile Island, the Piper Alpha disaster, the space shuttle disasters and the Titanic. Each case study will be presented by a combination of documentaries, cause and effects summaries and analysis using a new model involving Cognitive Patterning and Boundary Condition and Decision Analysis.
