Summary

A comprehensive course and technical reference on the chemistry, mechanisms, sources, assessment, testing and prediction of acid rock drainage and metal leaching. The course provides a tool box for the assessment and management of acid rock drainage and metal leaching with a focus on the advantages and disadvantages of each tool, supported by the lessons learned in case studies.

Course Theme:
The course is taught in a casual atmosphere encouraging questions and feedback from course participants.

Course Content:
A mixture of theory, standard practices, applications, pitfalls and lessons learned related to the assessment, characterization, prediction and management of acid rock drainage and metal leaching and how these issues are integrated into the larger mine operations and decisions.

Who Should Attend?

The course will benefit anyone who works peripherally to issues affected by acid rock drainage and metal leaching and equally to those who are intimately involved in the practice of predicting and managing these issues. The intent is to instill in course attendees the experience gained over a combined 40+ years in consulting.

Handouts:
