Provisional Schedule

Instruction will take place from 8:30AM to 5:00PM each day, with a lunch break from 12.30 to 1:30PM and 15 minute snack breaks in mid-morning and mid-afternoon.

Day 1

Time Session Presenters
08:15 – 08:45 Registration  
08:45 – 12:30 Introduction to Geostokos Software, Tutorial exercises on statistical and geostatistical analysis using the data sets from Practical Geostatistics 2000. Dr. Isobel Clark
12:30 – 13:30 Lunch  
13:30 – 17:00 Consideration of statistical distribution and its contribution to interpretation of sample data; identification of multiple components and likely indicator discriminators; lognormal and other distributions. Dr. Isobel Clark

Day 2

08:30 – 12:30 Construction and interpretation of semi-variograms; identification of trends; multi-component models; confirmation of basic assumptions; outliers. Dr. Isobel Clark

13:30 – 17:00 Choice of appropriate kriging techniques; practical applications of kriging; confidence and standard errors. Dr. Isobel Clark
