At popular request we are bringing this course to you as a live webcast!
SummaryThis course presents the importance of geotechnical inputs in different stages of a block cave mine. The collection of appropriate geotechnical data during the assessment and initial development of a block caving operation helps in the design of the block cave layouts and in the sizing of material handling systems. During the planning and scheduling phase, geotechnical parameters often affect the production rate and capacity from the mine. In the operations phase, the monitoring of ground response to mining helps in the safe and productive operation of the block cave mine. Pre-Course e-LearningPrior to the course, registered delegates have access to the online e-learning material consisting of an introductory course titled Introduction to Block Caving. UBC Certificate in Mining StudiesThis course qualifies for one day of short course credit for the UBC Certificate in Mining Studies, a continuing education initiative by the Norman B. Keevil Institute of Mining at the University of British Columbia. more details » Continuing Professional Development (CPD)This course meets the requirements for formal CPD activity for most Canadian provincial associations and US state boards and may contribute the equivalent in hours towards your CPD requirement. more details » Who Should Attend? This course is designed for engineers involved in the design and operation of block cave mines to provide them additional information that can be used in the safe and productive operation of their mines. |
