Course Summary

Introduction

Metso, like its customers, understands the pressures imposed by rapidly changing technology, and the need to do more with less. In this new business environment, education and training programs have even greater importance in the maintenance and development of a company’s intellectual capital, arguably it’s most important asset. To address the needs of the plant operators, has developed a unique computer based training system (CBT). It focuses on generic principles aimed at equipping people with the knowledge to make safer, faster and better decisions.

Course Content

This course comprises 9 working sessions, of 30 - 60 minutes duration each, plus numerous figures and extensive review sessions. Total course duration is equivalent to approximately 5 hours of viewing content.

  • Explain the principles of operation and control of flotation circuits.
  • Apply this knowledge to flotation plant operations.

Recommended Background

  • A partial degree or diploma in mining or industrial engineering or related discipline.
  • Successful completion of the course Flotation 2 - Unit Operations.

Metso developed the computer based training program (CBT) for training crushing, grinding and flotation operators. The program is presented by Edumine as online self-paced, self-learning courses. The courses include online certification as well as performance tracking and reporting.

In 2014, Metso and Edumine signed an agreement under which Edumine would integrate Metso's computer based training (CBT) videos into the online courses, and present the unique, award-winning courses online for the global mining industry.
