Todd Martin is a Principal Geotechnical Engineer with 25 years of experience focused on geotechnical aspects of mining projects, earth and rockfill embankment dams, and soft ground engineering. He has specialized international experience in site investigation, construction monitoring, instrumentation and performance monitoring, and geotechnical analysis and design for mine tailings and embankment dams, having worked on over 80 such projects over the past 24 years. He has experience in most tailings handling and disposal technologies from conventional slurry impoundments to thickened tailings operations to dry stacking of filtered tailings. He has carried out dam safety reviews of tailings and embankment dams worldwide and has given invited lectures on dam safety in several countries. He has authored or co-authored 26 papers mostly pertaining to mine waste management topics.
