André Vien is the Process Engineering Manager at Metso Minerals Center for Advanced Technology where he has been working since 1988 (including the MCAT predecessors). During this time he has worked on numerous data analysis, modeling and advanced control projects. As part of his work he developed several engineering tools for mass balancing, modeling and data analysis. He has co-authored several papers and participated in many short-courses. He is the founder of the computer based mill operator training (CBT) program. His recent work includes process audits, metallurgical forecasting, as well as research and development inside Metso Minerals. André has presented the process control course for over 20 years, both in conference settings as well as on customer sites.
